Two Mizzou Indoor Records Broken on Day Two of Tyson Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Mizzou Track & Field wrapped up the Tyson Invitational with two school indoor records being broken and 23 athletes setting new personal-bests.

NOTABLE FINISHES

Martin Prodanov (Plovdiv, Bulgaria) captured the men’s mile title with a time of 3:58.72, which is a new Mizzou indoor record. Prodanov also set a new personal-best and is only the second person in school history to break 4:00 in the indoor men’s mile.

In the women’s triple jump, Arianna Fisher (San Jose, Calif.) broke her previous Mizzou indoor record by 0.07m. With her leap of 13.59m (44-7), Fisher set a new personal-best and now has the fifth best jump this season in the NCAA.

Claudina Diaz (Merida, Yucatan, Mexico) placed first in the women’s high jump with a mark of 1.82m (5-11½). This jump moves Diaz up to tied third all-time in Mizzou’s indoor record book and she is now 13th in the NCAA for the event.

To wrap up the Tyson Invitational, the women’s 4x400m relay of Savannah Nevels, Mya Drayton, Kelsey Schweizer, and Rondajai Washington had a time of 3:45.54. That is the seventh-fastest women’s 4x400m relay on record in Mizzou indoor history, and it is the sixth top-10 mark made at the Tyson Invitational this weekend.
