Mizzou Swim & Dive dominates Show-Me Showdown

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Mizzou men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams opened the season with team victories at the 15^thannual Show-Me Showdown. Mizzou took first place in all 26 events.

The Mizzou women finished with 683 to take first, followed by Lindenwood (477), SLU (400), WashU (375), Truman State (221), UMSL (162), William Jewel (67) and Maryville (26). The Mizzou men won with 750 points, followed by Lindenwood (450), WashU (372), UMSL (251), SLU (248), William Jewel (162), Truman State (103) and Maryville (33).

Seniors Allison Bloebaum, Danny Kovac and Jack Dahlgren and fifth-year Sarah Thompson all claimed two individual wins apiece in the meet. The men’s and women’s 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relays also took home victories.

Senior Sarah Rousseau swept the women’s events in the diving well, winning the 1-meter with 267.10 points and the 3-meter with 293.45. The Mizzou men swept the diving portion as well, with junior Carlo Lopez winning the 3-meter with 398.95 points and sophomore Takuto Endo winning the 1-meter with 395.80 points.
