This Week in Drury Athletics: Drury volleyball returns to host McKendree on Saturday

Week of Sept. 13-19
 
The Drury women’s golf team starts their season on Monday in the Payne Stewart Memorial hosted by Missouri State at the Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield. The 54-hole tournament concludes Tuesday.
 
Drury volleyball is off to a 6-2 start and will play their first conference games of the season this week. The Panthers travel to Southwest Baptist for their GLVC opener on Thursday, then return home to play McKendree on Saturday at 3 pm in the O’Reilly Family Event Center.
 
Both Drury soccer teams are off to 1-0 conference starts and are on the road again this weekend. The Panthers are at Rockhurst on Friday night, then travel to Liberty, Missouri, to face William Jewell on Sunday afternoon.
 
Both Drury cross country teams return to action with the Missouri Southern Stampede on Saturday in Joplin.

Makina Wratten, Volleyball (Sr., Broken Arrow, Okla., Broken Arrow / Missouri St.)
 
Makina Wratten was named to the All-Tournament Team in the Alaska Nanook Classic in Fairbanks last week. The senior from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, averaged 1.44 blocks per set with three solo blocks and 20 block assists in four games and 16 sets. She recorded 12 block assists against Alaska-Fairbanks on Friday, second-most ever at Drury in a single game. Wratten also had a .317 hitting percentage averaging 1.88 kills per set.
 
Yannick Lamers, men’s soccer (Sr., Cape Town, South Africa, Parklands / West Valley Coll.)
 
Yannick Lamers got a shutout win in Drury’s Great Lakes Valley Conference opener on Sunday at Truman State. In Lamers’ lone start last week, he saw seven shots and did not allow a goal as the Panthers picked up a 1-0 victory on the road.
