Panthers open 2021-22 season at Payne Stewart Memorial

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury women’s golf team opened the 2021-22 season on Monday at the Payne Stewart Memorial tournament hosted by Missouri State at Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield. After two rounds, the Panthers are in 15th place with a team score of +83.
Oral Roberts leads the field at 14-over-par and enters tomorrow’s final round with a nine-shot lead over California Baptist.
Isabelle Thrall and Taryn Overstreet are leading Drury through the first two rounds. Both are tied for 52nd at 16-over-par. A freshman from Fenton, Missouri, Thrall made her collegiate debut shooting a +10, 81 in the opening round, then rebounded with a 77 in her second 18 holes of the afternoon. Overstreet reversed Thrall’s day with a 77 in round one, followed by an 81 in the second round.
Abby Cavaiani from Missouri State is on top of the individual leaderboard with a four-under-par, 138.
The tournament concludes on Tuesday with the third and final round at Twin Oaks.
