SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State’s 2021 volleyball schedule is complete and includes a total of 30 matches, 12 of those at Hammons Student Center.
The season begins with consecutive tournaments in Arkansas, the first of which sees the Bears take on former Missouri Valley Conference rival Wichita State, followed by Arkansas State and Tennessee Martin, in Jonesboro on Aug. 27-28. The Bears then head to Conway on Sept. 3 and 4 to take on Memphis, Central Arkansas and Little Rock at UCA’s tournament.
The annual Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational takes place Sept. 10-12 in Springfield, with Tulane, Louisiana Monroe and Saint Louis paying a visit to HSC for the three-day weekend.
MSU’s non-conference schedule concludes with a Sept. 17-18 tournament in Lawrence, Kan., where the Bears will face Albany, Kansas City and the host Kansas Jayhawks.
MVC play begins Sept. 24 at home against Loyola and returns to the traditional 18-match home-and-home round robin format this season. The MVC Tournament takes place Nov. 25-27 in Normal, Ill.
The Bears play an exhibition match at Arkansas on Aug. 21.
Missouri State went 15-7 overall and tied for second in the MVC at 11-5 last season in its first year under head coach Steven McRoberts. The Bears return 14 of 16 players from last season’s roster, led by first-team all-MVC selections Brooklyn Cink and Amelia Flynn.
