LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Thirteen University of Missouri softball players secured Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2023-24 academic year, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced Tuesday.
Danielle Blackstun, Claire Cahalan, Katie Chester, Julia Crenshaw, Kara Daly, Maddie Gallagher, Cierra Harrison, Abby Hay, Alex Honnold, Jayci Kruse, Kayley Lenger, Nathalie Touchet and Madison Walker earned All-America Scholar-Athlete distinction for Missouri.
Honnold secured the award for a fourth-consecutive season, while Daly, Kruse, and Gallagher were each recognized for the third-straight time in their careers. Harrison, Lenger and Chester have each now captured the academic honor in back-to-back seasons.
Student-athletes who achieve a 3.5 grade-point average or higher on a 4.0 scale for the 2023-24 academic year are recognized as Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes.
Mizzou finished the 2023-24 academic year with a 3.55 team GPA which ranked 69th out of 164 NCAA Division I institutions.
Overall, 8,054 collegiate student-athletes captured Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2023-24 academic year. NCAA Division I led the way with 2,573 student-athletes earning a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for 2023-24.
